Pos Indonesia and Rumah Tani Partner to Strengthen the National Food Supply Chain

Pos Indonesia dan Rumah Tani Jalin Kerja Sama, Perkuat Rantai Pasok Pangan Nasional

Tuesday, January 6, 2026 - PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with PT Rumah Tani Nusantara to support the distribution of agricultural commodities to various regions in Indonesia. This collaboration is a strategic step for Pos Indonesia in maintaining a smooth food supply chain while supporting the empowerment of local farmers, particularly in disaster-affected areas.

Present at the signing ceremony were Dino Ariyadi, EVP of Enterprise Business at Pos Indonesia, and Rumah Tani President Director Bahtiar. The signing was witnessed by Haris, Acting President Director of PT Pos Indonesia; Ferry Irawan, Deputy for Coordination of Management and Development of State-Owned Enterprises, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs; and Yuli Sri Wilanti, Deputy Assistant for Development of State-Owned Enterprises for Infrastructure and Logistics. Also present were Prasabri Pesti, Director of Courier and Logistics Business at PT Pos Indonesia, and Asih Kurniasari Komar, Director of Human Capital at PT Pos Indonesia.

Acting President Director of PT Pos Indonesia (Persero), Haris, stated that this collaboration aligns with Pos Indonesia's mandate as a state-owned enterprise with the most extensive logistics network in the country. He believes that reliable and equitable food distribution is key to maintaining economic stability and national food security. "Pos Indonesia is ready to take a strategic role in ensuring the smooth, timely distribution of agricultural commodities and reaching all regions, including those currently experiencing limited access following the disaster," Haris said.

PT Pos Indonesia (Persero), he added, explained that this collaboration leverages Pos Indonesia's national logistics network to support the distribution of agricultural commodities managed by Rumah Tani Nusantara. Through this collaboration, Pos Indonesia is committed to improving the reliability and efficiency of agricultural commodity deliveries, particularly those requiring timely delivery and extensive reach. "Pos Indonesia has a logistics network and infrastructure that spans all regions of Indonesia. This synergy is expected to provide effective distribution solutions for agricultural commodities while supporting the strengthening of the agribusiness sector," he said.

PT Rumah Tani Nusantara is an agribusiness company that builds an integrated agricultural ecosystem with a focus on empowering local farmers. These efforts are carried out through the provision of capital, technical assistance, and the opening of structured market access for agricultural products from various regions. Bahtiar, President Director of PT Rumah Tani Nusantara, stated that reliable logistics support is a primary requirement for maintaining the quality and smooth distribution of fresh agricultural commodities. Therefore, Pos Indonesia was chosen as a strategic partner to connect production centers with the national market. "This collaboration allows for a wider and more organized distribution of local farmers' agricultural products, both to wholesale markets, institutional buyers, and modern distribution networks," he said.

He revealed that since December 2, 2025, Rumah Tani has contributed to absorbing farmers' harvests in disaster-affected areas, achieving more than 221 tons of chilies, 2 tons of durian, and 4 tons of coffee, as well as distributing more than 40 tons of rice aid to affected communities. The synergy with Pos Indonesia is expected to strengthen these achievements going forward. Within the scope of the collaboration, Pos Indonesia will provide delivery services for Rumah Tani Nusantara's agricultural commodities. These services include pickup of shipments from warehouses or collection points, delivery to distribution points and destination markets throughout Indonesia, as well as loading and unloading services and delivery status reporting.

Furthermore, this agreement also stipulates compensation guarantees in accordance with applicable regulations, as well as commercial, operational, and administrative aspects of delivery agreed upon by both parties. This collaboration also supports the development of Pos Indonesia's business-to-business (B2B) service portfolio, particularly in the agribusiness and agricultural commodity logistics segments, which have significant growth potential. Going forward, this collaboration still offers opportunities for further development, including in the distribution of national agricultural commodities, the development of integrated end-to-end agribusiness logistics services, and the optimization of Pos Indonesia's logistics network and facilities to support the scale of Rumah Tani Nusantara's distribution.

Meanwhile, Ferry Irawan, Deputy for Coordination of State-Owned Enterprises Management and Development at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, stated that North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh contribute significantly to the national economy, with a combined GRDP reaching 7.82 percent of national GDP in 2024. However, natural disasters affecting these regions have impacted food production and distribution, necessitating the strengthening of a fast and adaptive logistics system.

Through this collaboration, Pos Indonesia will provide delivery services for PT Rumah Tani Nusantara's agricultural commodities, from pickup at warehouses or collection points, delivery to national markets, to loading and unloading services, delivery status reporting, and compensation guarantees in accordance with applicable regulations. "The role of state-owned logistics companies like PT Pos Indonesia is highly strategic, particularly in supporting distribution and maintaining the continuity of the food supply chain as part of accelerating economic recovery," he said.

In the context of post-disaster economic recovery, the government is also pushing for accelerated access and strengthening connectivity. However, the lack of operations of private logistics providers in a number of affected areas makes the role of state-owned logistics companies like PT Pos Indonesia even more vital in maintaining the continuity of food distribution. In addition to supporting the distribution of agricultural commodities, PT Pos Indonesia is also considered to have the experience and capacity to implement government stimulus policies, including the distribution of social assistance and logistical support for seeds and fertilizers to disaster-affected areas.
