Pos Indonesia Leads SPHP Rice Distribution in the National Affordable Food Movement
PosIND's Commitment as the Backbone of National Food Logistics
Jakarta, July 18, 2025 – PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) or PosIND has taken a central role in supporting the launch of the Low-Cost Food Movement (GPM) for SPHP Rice, a national program aimed at maintaining price stability and expanding access to staple foods for the Indonesian people.
As the government's primary logistics partner, PosIND not only serves as a distributor but also deploys its entire modern logistics infrastructure and digital service network to ensure the rapid, accurate, and equitable distribution of SPHP rice to all corners of the country. The GPM launch was inaugurated by the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan, along with the Head of the National Food Agency (Badan Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi, the Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, and the President Director of Perum BULOG Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani.
A total of 1.3 million tons of rice will be distributed nationally from July to December 2025, with PosIND at the forefront of its distribution. With a network of more than 4,000 service points spread from major cities to remote areas, PosIND is poised to spearhead the program's success. Initially, 200 sales points will be opened at post offices, with this number increasing to 1,000 points within a week—leveraging the strength of PosIND's extensive and trusted network.
PosIND's Director of Courier and Logistics Business, Tonggo Marbun, emphasized PosIND's readiness to carry out this significant mandate. "We have digitally integrated the entire logistics and sales system, from distribution centers to village service counters. With our superior technology and human resources, PosIND is ready to become the backbone of national food distribution," he said.
PosIND's active involvement in the GPM (Governing Food Distribution Program) follows its successful track record of distributing affordable food during the 2025 Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr Market Operations. This success reinforces the government's trust in PosIND as a strategic partner in maintaining national food security.
Rice distribution is carried out at prices according to the HET per zone, with purchasing controls to ensure equitable distribution. PosIND orders are limited to 2 tons per transaction, in accordance with government technical guidelines, as a commitment to regular distribution.
Cross-agency coordination continues between PosIND and BULOG, Bapanas, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs to ensure smooth implementation on the ground. PosIND serves not only as an implementer, but also as a key driver of the national food logistics ecosystem.
With the spirit of Serving the Nation, Pos Indonesia is committed to remaining a people's logistics force, ensuring the affordability and availability of staple foods for all levels of society—towards a resilient and prosperous Indonesia.
