Pos Indonesia Offers Free Aid Delivery to Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra
Sunday, November 30, 2025 — PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) is offering a free humanitarian aid delivery service until December 8, 2025, to disaster-affected areas in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. This initiative represents the company's rapid response to the disasters that have befallen various regions in Indonesia.
Prasabri Pesti, Acting Director of Business Courier and Logistics at Pos Indonesia, stated that the high level of public concern has encouraged Pos Indonesia to provide free aid delivery services from several major cities. The public and communities can utilize this service to channel support to disaster-affected residents.
"Aid packages can be sent from the Main Branch Offices in Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya, and will be forwarded to the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Command Posts in North Sumatra, Aceh, and West Sumatra. For further information, please contact Pos Indonesia's WhatsApp service number at 0851-2138-0099," Prasabri explained in a press release.
He added that public enthusiasm for helping the victims is overwhelming. Pos Indonesia is here to ensure the aid arrives safely and on time.
"We see strong public sympathy for the disaster. Therefore, Pos Indonesia is facilitating the delivery of aid from individuals, communities, and organizations. All aid items will be delivered to the Regional Disaster Coordinating Agency before being distributed to those in need. Pos Indonesia is waiving shipping costs for these deliveries," said Prasabri.
Flash floods and landslides in various regions of Aceh and North Sumatra have displaced thousands of residents, cut off road access, and disrupted logistics distribution. In North Aceh and Aceh Tamiang, increased water levels have inundated many settlements. Meanwhile, in North Sumatra, landslides in several areas, including Dairi and Tapanuli Regencies, have hampered access to affected areas.
Prasabri confirmed that package and cargo deliveries to Aceh and North Sumatra are continuing. However, some shipments must be temporarily held at the nearest Distribution Center (DC) until access is declared safe.
Regarding the distribution of the Direct Cash Assistance for Social Welfare (BLT Kesra) from the government, he also emphasized that Pos Indonesia is striving to deliver on schedule, despite facing challenges on the ground. Indonesian Post officers will ensure that the aid is received by the recipients, including those who are temporarily staying at evacuation posts.
