Pos Indonesia Opens International Cargo Services, Facilitating Shipments for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), Hajj, and Umrah

Jakarta — PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) officially launched its International Cargo for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), Hajj, and Umrah at an event held at the Pos Indonesia Head Office in Jakarta on Tuesday (January 14, 2026).

This service is intended to facilitate Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) and Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in sending goods from abroad to Indonesia, offering tax relief for Hajj and Umrah, affordable shipping costs, and faster delivery via air cargo. Currently, PMI shipments from Saudi Arabia reach 80–100 tons per month.

Acting Director of Courier and Logistics Business at PT Pos Indonesia (Persero), Prasabri Pesti, stated that this service is an expansion of the Hajj Cargo service, which previously received regulatory relief from the government.

"Through PMI, Hajj, and Umrah Cargo, Pos Indonesia wants to ensure that sending goods from abroad for Indonesians is easier, faster, and more secure. Supported by Pos Indonesia's network that reaches even the most remote parts of the country, this service is expected to provide tangible benefits for PMI and pilgrims," ​​said Prasabri.

The service launch was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH), and the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, demonstrating concrete support from the government and stakeholders for facilitating logistics services for Indonesian Migrant Workers and Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

Through synergy across ministries and institutions, Pos Indonesia affirms its commitment to continuously strengthening its role as the primary gateway for international cargo shipments, while expanding its contribution to supporting the logistics needs of Indonesians abroad.
